Thats false. It was a pricing error that stores had. MSRP is 15.99 for amiibos.

Toy-to-Life toys have always been part of GCU. Probably the best thing of GCU compared to GameStop and Prime.
Disney Infinity, Skylanders, Lego Dimensions all got GCU discount.
Got many of them...

Ridley was discounted to $12.99 at one point, but I think its MSRP is still $15.99. That's its current price at BB.
My understanding is that re-releases of older amiibo will be at the original...

Except in this amiibo case, the price is higher only because it costs more to manufacture. It's in line with the Guardian amiibo from BOTW. Ridley is only $12.99 so I don't think the prices went up....
