Not true about the warranty. Milwaukee requires no proof of purchase. They just go off of the serial number on the tool and if it's within the service window they fix it.

All of the Milwaukee dealers have had this deal since the beginning of November. This applies to the new Sawzall, 7-1/4” circular saw and table saw as well.
