I sent anker an email direct to see if they'll respond, if not i might look at getting one from ebay, any thoughts on pros/cons going the ebay route? no tax...not sure about warranty though, comments?

Nope. They both have the same Ansi. Kinda strange they went from 500 ansi on the Mars I to 300 on the Mars II. That was the main compromise you had to make before when choosing LITE over Mars....

I hear the OS is pretty bad and many people opted for the Lite as a result. If the only addition is the Smart OS it’s not worth it considering you can power it through a connected streaming device.

I’ve had one since this past summer. Chromecast, Apple TV, Firestick, etc all work through HDMI. My biggest complaint is the inability to adjust the picture (temperature, sharpness, etc.).

All the reviews that you can use a firestick or chromecast. Don't see why you couldn't, it has an hdmi port. At least for the lite version, haven't checked the 2. I've had the lite on my wishlist...
