My mistake. But that only strengthens my point. Way too much power for a cigarette lighter plug which usually has a 10 amp fuse for approximately 140 watts (when car is running).

I had this before and the smell of plastic is quite persistent. I boiled gallons of water with it to get rid of the smell, but it never completely go away.
