May I know what is the biggest difference between the two? Is it just the slight improvement in watts per channel?

Your always going to find people that have a preference, I would still suggest going and listening yourself and see which one performs better and if it's worth it to you.

I ended up buying the AVR here. There are cheaper options available but the savings aren’t significant when compared to features and potential audio quality improvements with Yamaha.

Yes, I always sell my old receiver. Usually, I use Craigslist. It's one of the few things I make more on Craigslist rather than eBay (probably due to shipping).

I have a similar setup and use case. This AVR could be used to divide speakers in zones. However, I haven’t researched much yet to comment on if cheaper options are available and about similar.
