That's generally only true if the SSD you put in is m.2-SATA and not m.2-NVme. m.2-NVme usually disables the pcie slot near it (unless you have an HEDT board and a high pcie lane count CPU)

Just a heads up, I believe using m.2 slots actually renders a corresponding sata port unusable. So for instance, you can't utilize the m.2 slot that uses the sata 1 port at the same time.
