Without knowing all the facts, I would guess we didn't hear the full story. They can't deny written warranty on an item because of where it was purchased. It is against federal law.

It would be against the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to deny warranty coverage based on where an item was purchased. If a written warranty is specified, it must be honored.
