I think everyone should pass on this and buy the af-s version which is superior and cost just a little bit more refurbished but to each their own. I do own this lens but I don’t think you can justify...

Yes. However, Nikon D lenses require a camera body that has in body focus motor.

I have the 35 and 50 (the G version) with a D7100. You will enjoy 50mm much more for portraits. The 35mm is an awesome lens but not for portraits.
