Thanks! I decided to give it a try. For the money, I don't think there are too many things that'd get me disappointed with this decision.
Not sure if it's the exact same model but this review of the...

There is no reason to wait when Amazon and eBay are full of better deals. Carbon fiber is fine if it's a light tripod, but there are plenty of less expensive aluminum tripods around the same weight....

This is cheap. Seems like a good value.
My RRS tripod costs $1000. Ballhead another $400-500. Great quality but not good value.

Agreed - there's always tradeoffs. These low-end carbon fiber tripods often don't give you any relief in weight, but sometimes can carry heavier loads/are steadier.

That would work for some shots, not all of them. It's a feature that if you're going to have a tripod, it should have (for me anyway). Too limiting without it, and in reality, it doesn't cost more to...

Agreed that the horizontal column is a great feature that is missing from this, but you could reverse the center column to capture those macro shots, with this one.

It can more than support the weight of a D750 and 70-200. I've tested that combo on this myself

interesting - looked at it. still would pass (although that's a good price, IF the tripod and ball head are of decent quality) as it doesn't have a horizontal feature, and it's quite heavy.
