This is the best bang for buck beginner gaming laptop. It will play all games, just not on ultra/high settings. I have bought 2 of them before

Thanks, I saw that. I’ll probably get the screen but I think the memory boost will be the first thing I do.

Will this run in dual channel mode with the stick that already comes with the laptop?

No one may have known about it until it was posted here.

Yesterday I picked up this Nitro 5 with a 2500U and was able to cancel to pick this up. This seems worth the extra $60 to get a better processor, already have the ssd installed, and have an NVidia...

I don't see this. Checked the app too.

Picked one up. I was in the market for a new laptop. Thanks. The 90 day warranty is little bothersome but I couldn’t justify $70 extra dollars for the extended warranty.

Playing 4k video files with this laptop would be a breeze. The 1050ti will handle it no problem. If you wanted to do 4k gaming you would need a better machine EDIT CPU would not bottleneck...

I bought this the last time it was this price, and it's fantastic for the price. The quality of my refurb was excellent, and I'd have no reservations about buying another Acer refurb. I added...

No bios or software fix, I searched for one on the website recently and found nothing. Most likely it just means people returned them or complained over it and they just resold them.

The 1050ti should be able to handle just fine at 1080p :)

Playing 4K and x265 FHD files shouldn't be a problem for this laptop, right? I assume the CPU (Intel i5-8300H) would be the bottleneck here?

Cancelled the $439 model and snagged this one plus a stick of matching Crucial RAM
Post #125868037 added 03-05-2019 11:10 AM by aparoche in Deal Talk
Could you post a link to the matching Crucial RAM stick that you ordered? I assume it matches the single 8 GB stick that is included with this Acer Nitro?

Ok, I installed the new screen. It is a N156HHE-GA1 as recommended. However, I cannot get it to go to 120Hz. What's the trick with that?

Did you try this? https://m.windowscentral.com/how-change-monitor-refresh-rate-windows-10 I believe mine jumped to 120 Hz after I installed the display and rebooted my laptop.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I had to run CRU (Custom Resolution Utilty) one time after installing the panel, to set it to the new 120hz. Windows didn’t recognize it by itself. The...

Good deal! I hope you enjoyed the difference. I know that factory 60hz panel drove me crazy... even just doing simple Windows tasks.

You should include in your listing that it is refurbished and the seller is Acer. Even for a manufacturer refurbished model, it is a good deal.
