Use this model, together with 210 as rears and 225c for small 5.1 HT. Maybe bright for some but I love the details, paired with an HK AVR

Far better, that’s comparing the BS-22s to the the 220s but there bigger brothers both share the same technology.
Which puts the JBL in a different class.

Receiver, or an amp,
Receiver will give u quality audio and surround options, if you just want a stereo then just use a 2 channel amp.
If just a stereo I’d go with the floor standing.

I use the 220s as surrounds in a 7.2.4 system, and think they are the best compact 4” woofer with a wave guide tweeter speaker for the money, everything about them looks high quality.
