I think it depends on individual needs. If 12V power is sufficient for you then go for it. Some people needs 18V or higher torgue power specific to the work they have to do.

If it matters, the chuck version is front heavy, you can't stand it up safely on anything you care about. Not a big deal if you always remember to lay it down but the chuck version also has less...
