This monitor works in 240hz with HDMI without gsync compatible mode. Make sure in nvidia control panel that you have the resolution set to 1080p under PC and on the right drop down and find 240hz.

You are using the wrong cable. U need a display port to get over 120 hz also need to go into the monitor settings and change the refresh rate there
