I would consider these to be a step above the Ridgid Octane tools. I know just going by the specs on the box the Ridgid are better, but I think Ridgid is taking some liberties with their torque...

No you probably don't unless there's other m18 tools you want to use down the road like the cordless table saw, miter saw, nail guns, etc that don't come in m12 variants.

Other than my drill, I use the fan the most out of all the Milwaukee Tools I own. Especially with this heat down in South Georgia. I tote that fan everywhere with me.

This isn't the lowest, was $200 last week. In case you missed it this isn't a bad deal. They are shipped in a special combo. If so you can't return the fan or anything separately from this deal.
