Finally decided to use mine. First let me preface this with the fact that I have a home with a heat pump. The reason I purchased this was to raise the thermostat a few degrees for the whole house...

That is BS. A split system, AKA: "Central Air", uses an internal intake to pull UNconditioned home air through an evaporator (which pulls heat from the air). The freshly CONDITIONED air is dispersed...

The problem I’ve experienced is that on a really hot muggy day the rest of the house is freakin hot man as the single hose creates such a vacuum and pulls that crappy air indoors. Summer is all but...

Just got mine, installed in a 500-600 sq ft bedroom, and it works great. Is about 80 and muggy where I am now, and it got the room temp down to a comfortably cool temp in about 20-30 mins.Happy with...

DUAL HOSE OR BUST! Its a shame that these manufacturers do not make it easy to convert them to a dual hose setup. It can be done but you need to jerry-rig your floor unit with an intake hose...

I may end up returning this. Compared to my LG (Link), it seems to do a worse job of cooling one of my small bedrooms. I noticed it was putting out more heat than the LG, which might be reducing it's...

Agreed, I have a similar experience with an LG model that I inherited. My exhaust hose was completely severed, but nothing that some aluminum foil tape couldn't fix!

I read extensive research before buying a single hose Danby portable AC. There is not much difference between single hose and dual hose in terms of efficiency. I have suffered many summers...

That is completely untrue. I have a Danby single hose and it drops the temperature by several degress over one hour. Make sure that the exhaust hose hasn't got any leaks anywhere.
