Just FYI, but drives get extremely hot when sitting in this (or any) drive dock. When I clone drives at work with it, I keep a small desk fan on the drives so they remain nice and cool.

No, that's probably a step too far, it's fine at enable write caching for device unless you have an UPS.

On spinning disks, all USB3 is so much faster than the disks it doesn't matter if it is 1.5Gbps, 5Gbps or 10Gbps. Spinning disks general top out around 125Mbps. If one of the devices is a 2.5inch...

Way to much talk about corrupted and trashed drives when using the dock. Not a deal when you have to take a gamble with expensive hard drives and irreplaceable data.
