This happened to me with my ninja. Ended up drinking chunky smoothies with the ice not blending up. Upgraded to a blendtec. I use mine daily so I can justify $200+ on a decent blender.

In the long run, I think the Vitamix is the way to go. It uses dull blades and the Ninja relies on sharp blades. I would think that the blades would get dull with ice and would not perform as well in...

But this one does not come with those containers. Have you priced those containers from Vitamix? Also no 7yr warranty. It comes with the exact same size container as the Costco deal

Ascent series is much better than other Vitamix series if you want small blends. That should factor in decision making as well if you are on the fence.

Buy from Vitamix and support them. This low profile container requires more volume of items for it to blend versus the 5200 is better for single people because of the jar's design.
