That's not how it works, despite what it seems like. You're losing a huge heat sink, that water could cool down a few beers, but now it's just cooling down the dirt.

For those who are saying they’re not the outdoorsy type - I use my cooler when I go out grocery shopping and I know I still need to make a stop or two before getting home. Keeps the perishables cold

To keep the water out off the ice. The water is “ice cold” but it seems like it melts faster when you don’t drain off the water.

If you want ice to last much longer in any cooler make sure you refrigerate first. Most ice is lost cooling cans or whatever in the first few hours.

Got the 40L soft in April. Works awesome so far build quality is great. It holds 4 64L growlers!!! I got it for an additional 10% off the 25% off price so it does go lower at times.

ORCA coolers are cheap at Tractor Supply if you buy: white, tan, olive, or pink. Add those colors to your cart and the price is much lower that the list usually.
