The three TB ones were particularly bad and I had a 3 TB fail. Supposedly the SMRs have a higher failure rate too. Otherwise they are on par with the other manufacturers. Check out the backblaze...

Every time I give seagate a chance I'm disappointed. The drives either corrupt data or die within a year or two :(. I have WDs over ten years old still alive and kicking!

Yes. That has been my experience. Mine became corrupted and I wasn't able to recover much. They may have improved since my last upgrade around 5 years ago.
