It depends. If the light is indirect, with a good screen it way work. Not these BenQs though. 3-4000 lumen.

Which ViewSonic do you have? Most 3200 lumens projectors are hyper advertised and actually barely put out half that color brightness. I don't know why but there is a gap in the 3000 lumen range.

So much have changed since 2006. While what you said was true and can be true with certain conditions, affordable projectors now are so much better than in most cases you don't have to do such...

I have been using my BenQ projector as my primary TV for 12 years. I vary 12-13k hours per bulb (over 40k hours so far). To get the best colors you really need a blacked out room. Black /dark gray...

Has anyone seen these side-by-side with a projector in the 3000 lumen range? I'm curious how well it looks in a dimly lit room. My 3200 lumen Viewsonic is bright enough, but just barely.

I called and spoke with 3-4 different people last time. They won't budge on offering additional discounts. They stated pricing is already lowered and at a discounted rate.

There is a page in the menu that will tell you how many hours of usage you have racked up. The problem is that it can easily be turned back to zero with the push of the reset button.

You can't. Benq has no way of knowing either. They are only guessing/hoping the projector counter matched the lamp, which in most cases do. Some fancy projectors have electronics in the lamp...
