That’s sort of what I am waiting on. I’ll either get a 2600 or 2700 (either would be a gigantic upgrade for me) and then upgrade later if the initial cpu cost is like half of the 3600. But the...

In May, 2018, I picked up a 2700 for what was then a price low, $255 -- everyone else was selling it for ~$300. The same sort of price drop will most likely happen with the Ryzen 3 CPUs. The new x570...

Same here. I have no issues dropping $200 on the 3600 but I feel like the new $150+ boards are overkill. I just need a sub$100 microatx or itx so I can do 1 gpu, m.2, SSD and 1 HDD. I still have the...

Lol, I have a 2070 and a 1700x and the 1700x is not good enough, lots of games are not gpu bound, all assassins creed games for example are far more cpu bound.

I just bought and installed one of these in a new build yesterday (OEM version from eBay for a bit less), immediately overclocked it to 4.0ghz (haven't attempted it any higher yet) with a Noctua U12S...

You're good with a 1700x, most games are GPU bound anyway so benchmarks don't apply to most people unless they have the top tier GPUs.

Yea good point, but I think GN did a review of the 3600 and compared to a 2700x it was beating or within a fraction on rendering.

I wouldn't depend solely on UserBenchmark. Google it and check the latest news on how they generate their scoring values.

It was on Newegg during Prime Day. I picked one up because I wasn't ready to drop $200+ for an X570 board.

+7% MC perf for the 2700 would not make me get it over a 3600 when the avg usr bench is like +13% for the 3600 overall.
