I would highly recommend upgrading to the 4K touch screen.
I was skeptical of 4k on a 15.6" screen but it really helps text looks sharper and when opening alot of windows such as for console...

I have an x1 extreme and they generally suffer from both thermal and power throttling from time to time. I am now just coming around accepting that beyond a point, speed is useless in laptops.
