AC2200 is physically smaller, have weaker antennas (less range/coverage), and have half of the dedicated backhaul bandwidth.

You technically cannot configure the radios separately.. They broadcast the same SSID. Though like I have a device that doesn't support 5ghz and it would complain so you can telnet in and turn off...

I had the velop system (3 satellites) and it was ok except the back bedroom was getting not great numbers (i have gigabit internet and was getting like 120 down on the best day, sometimes much less)....
