Correct, you can upgrade the 779 to the 780 by installing this: https://www.mmtoolparts.com/store/miter-saw-upgrade-kit-dewalt I did it on mine last time this deal was posted. very easy install.​

I was shopping this last year,, as far as I know, the main difference between the 779 and 780 is that the newer model has the shadow cut marker guide. Regardless, $200 for this saw is a great deal.

Interesting that the price would jump back to $349. My understanding was that it is a clearance item due to a newer model. Clearanced items generally do not go back up in price.
