In general ignore the DDR3 / DDR4 part. There are differences there (especially on amd multi channel) but this doesn't use that. Anything you get nowadays is ddr 4, but its not the dramatic...

That's for you to decide. I have a i7 4790 with 16gb ram that's starting to show its age so I went ahead and ordered this with a nvme ssd. Definitely excited to get into ddr4 and nvme ssd speeds.

Agree with Hat-trick. If you got the 1700 last year no need to replace it with this one. Still disappointed with Dell not providing Bios updates - 3rd gen is really performing well.
