Those comments demonstrate how it's possible to find incorrect information even on a specialized photography forum if you look hard enough. Just search "Image Stabilization versus f-stop" and pick at...

Of course the 1.4 is faster than 1.8. that's just physics. My point is that some people prefer the sony 35 1.8 because it has oss over the faster sigma 30 f1.4 with no oss, despite the 30 1.4 being...

1.8 is not FAST relative to 1.4 unless you don't believe in physics. With all due respect, I reqeust that you please read about f-stop and stop confusing people with incorrect information. One of...

I have the A6400 but I don’t shoot a lot of handheld video. Typically landscape time-lapses on a tripod. The improved auto-focus of the 6400 was more important than the IBIS in the 6500. If you’re...

I agree with you that it's strange that the 16-55 doesn't have oss especially since it's an APS-C lens. Price of the Sony e 50 1.8 oss crop used to range from $250-300. It was recently increased...

I’m not sure what your point is. My point is that Sony puts OSS in almost all their lenses but their much anticipated G 2.8 zoom lens doesn’t have it? I meant the SEL50F18. But you’re right, I...

If it had OSS or using it on an a6500 and you were doing video you’d still need a gimbal for smooth video. Watch comparison videos, IBIS and OSS, at least for video, is pretty overrated.

This lens doesn't have stabilization, and neither does the 6400. If you want to do video, you'll need a gimbal. If you want to do stills, you'll need to keep your shutter speed faster than 1/50th,...

The Sony 50 1.8 FE Full frame is $200 and doesn't have oss. The sony 60 1.8 e crop is currently $350 (at least at Sony authorized retailers) and has oss.

As a total side note I can’t believe the Sony $400 35 mm 1.8, the $200 50 mm, and the $150 16-55 kit lens all have OSS but the $1400 16-55 G 2.8 lens DOESN’T have OSS. Seriously Sony?! They’re...
