If it's the same deal for over 4 months, is it really still a deal?

The display is so much brighter and clearer and the colors are more natural looking.

Basically I agree with you. I do think you're kind of unfairly thrashing the robust and time-proven U2412 though. Maybe just not put "settle" in all-caps? I don't think the 2412 was ever a "budget"...

This is not a correct comparison. The 32" one is not 1920x1200 and is not a 24" monitor. 32" is way too big for 1080. The U2412 (which I have also) is an older model with less features and...

What's the difference between this and the 1920x1200 Dell U2412M that was in a recent Slickdeals post and of which I currently own a half dozen units, the most recent bought two weeks ago and the...

Maybe because it's a 16:10 monitor and not 16:9? That is important to some folks. There aren't that many other 16:10 options out there (relatively speaking). Edit: Ah, I see the 2412m also is...

Or like he says this isn’t a slick deal compared to other options out there right now: This recent Dell studio 32” monitor at $180 was a much better value if you could afford the desk space. (And...

That's what I thought. But it seems that in this current world where almost everything is 16:9 newer cards (or the software that drives them) do not necessarily support the 1200 for vertical to...

I don't think whatever graphic card you currently have (even mobo integrated) will have a problem with 1920x1200.

So what current video cards are folks using with this monitor to get the native 1920 x 1200 resolution?

Love this monitor, paid about this much for a refurb a year or so ago. I'm in the 2/3 camp myself, 2x 24" is the largest I'd want to go. I use a utility called UltraMon to make window management...

Thank you! I will go with two 24" - I am afraid a 32" might be too big. Plus, occasionally I can connect one of them to my laptop with other staying connected to my desktop.

That's a tough call, because there is a difference between dual monitor and single monitor setups in terms of mouse movement and time it takes to manage windows. Let's say for the sake of argument...

Need an opinion - Two of these for ~$400 or one similar quality 32" for about the same? To be used mostly for coding and general office work. TIA.

This will probably be $180 in the next month or two. It's been as low as $175 if you can wait. Search the forum for price history.

Absolutely love this monitor but I got my refurb for $175 total (taxed and shipped) from Dell's outlet site back in 2016. $200 is kind of an okay price for brand new I guess now in 2019.
