yes as long as the NAS OS has drivers for the wireless NIC and gets an IP address from your router you can be wired or wireless. I prefer wired and static IP address for servers and priniters.

actually any 4th gen i5 or i7 with at least 8GB of ram would do. There are lots of NAS OS's you can try; FreeNAS, OpenFiler, RockStor, and Linux or BSD distro as well. I prefer Xpenology booting off...
