Slot cars are far more enjoyable than these. We got these a couple years ago and played with them that day and that was it. Felt like we had little to no control over what was actually happening....

Works great on iPhone and iPad for now. I have an old iPad that won't be getting anymore iOS updates so that's now our Anki "controller".

There's some open source projects going to reverse-engineer the communication to the cars and they already seem to work pretty well - someone would just need to create a new app using the open source...

I grew up with slot cars too. Plus the TCR switchable lane tracks. I had high hopes for this Anki track. It's neat but not quite like the slot cars. I bought these sets back when they were $120 each....
