Got one of these a while back and it scratched the heck of my seasoning. Changed to either bit of hot water and boiling off or a 5 minute soak with hot water with a light scrub from a dobie pad....

The ringer is better. This one has enormous chain links, the ringer is finer & therefore easier to scrub with.

Usually when I cook (meats) on my cast iron, I make it a point to cover it with tin foil (to trap heat)... When I'm done cooking, I loosely ball up said foil and scrape my pan with it. Works great......
