Up to you, personally I didn't see a difference in Best Buy. With a shield, you can disable DV and use HDR if you dont like it.

But I don't understand why I'll ever have a need for HDR/DV.... I'll only be watching DirecTV and 4k DVDs/Dvd ripped mkv.

They rolled out a patch that makes Dolby Vision better/brighter. It looks pretty good but overall DV is darker than HDR. If you prefer a brighter pic, get a roku stick and use that as it ONLY does...
