The Roku remote will have you never looking back. Plex works great on Roku.

It's decent, but the Roku provides a better, cleaner experience, access to additional free content, and supports more third party apps.
I'd say the Roku stick+ 4k for $30 is a better option.

Jailbreak on the Firestick 4K isn't a specific term. Using words like sideloading and rooting are more specific.

amazon stick can play better off your local network even if you don't go Kodi. It has the VLC player app. Roku is hit and miss with local content as it doesn't support a lot of the formats.

This serves up local media better because of Kodi.
If you don't have ripped local media then Roku is a tiny bit better because of less advertising on home page.
