Hi. I use 2 or 3 silica gel packets (drying agent) to make the air dry inside my camera bag. Is that enough for the camera? It's a 600D though.

Yeah you are good. Most of the concern is for older lenses/gear. Any type of growth in a recently made lens would be a worst case scenario and rare.

Mold could potentially develop inside lenses if left in dark areas, especially if it gets wet or is in a humid environment most of the time. Edit: Unlikely to happen in most real world cases...

Alot of repair shops won't even touch a lens with mold in it...they don't want to risk those spores affecting their other, more expensive lenses. For a shop or owner with a $10k Angenieux, $50k Cooke...

The mfg'ing process of the cameras require cleanroom environments. Literally zero dust. You're in and out of 3 cleanroom filtration rooms before you even enter "the" cleanroom.

It's all up to you, protect your gear or not protect your gear. The silica desiccants takes power to "recharge" via the microwave. It takes WAY more electricity to do. Also, you don't know the...

Out of curiosity, what'd they say is the point of 35 to 45% rel. humidity? I think for Woods this can make a big difference (I'm thinking guitars), where you don't want it to dry out, but you...

I just read that you shouldn't store lenses wrapped up in clothes or t-shirts or towels to help prevent damage while traveling, because more than a couple days could absorb a lot of moisture. And,...
