10Gbps is the same as 10000Mbps, so it won't limit the speed of a 3500Mbps drive. Edit: Nevermind. He meant 3500 MBps, which is 28000 Mbps, so this enclosure will indeed be a bottleneck.

if you're storing photos, it's better to get a cheap external hdd. you'll get lots more storage and since photos aren't that large, itll transfer relatively cheap. eg: you can get 1TB (4x your MBP)...

Good point and another example of the sometimes weird economics of tech related goods. I need to replace two stock 128GB drives with bigger ones, so I could use a couple of enclosures to get some...

The read and write speeds are way faster on the OP enclosure with an NVME SSD as opposed to a regular sata HDD. It's practically night and day. Another benefit is the compactness of this enclosure...

I have the older version of this, which is wider and not tool-less, but otherwise appears the same. The mounting style on this is very good -- the thermal pad is pressed directly against the SSD...

You can certainly use something like Macrium Reflect (free version) to do the cloning, and yes, you can do it with an internal NVMe to external, then swap the sticks. BUT, if this is your desire,...

This looks like a good way to upgrade a laptop's NVMe boot drive. Put the new NVMe drive in the enclosure, image the boot drive to the new one, then swap it out inside the laptop.

Using this won’t have it load any faster and your best bet is to get a large SSD internally installed as any external drive will be bottlenecked by the USB 3 connection. If you’re capping out (90%...

It was more than a typo thou 10Gb/s = 1,250MB/s (or 1.25GB/s) The 970 Evo is rated for read speeds of up to 3,500MB/s (or 3.5GB/s) 28Gb/s = 3,500MB/s So you are partially right that this...
