The best idea (which is what we did) is to start eating it the day after you make it. We made one 3d ago and started eating it the next day.

5 below had lots of houses this year at $5 regular price. some branded like frozen 2 and others the more generic house. not a great deal totally stealing the munch housing joke though

You can eat it but you need to wrap it in plastic if you intend to eat it later. The problem is that the candies and gingerbread hardens from being left out like any normal food.

A couple of these kits (like the townhouse) are good for younger kids because the house is already assembled. I saw the pic of the house on the box but did not realize that it is already in the form...
