Yep, I can confirm that - batteries expand and damage the motherboard. Probably not to every unit, but to a large percentage.

Be careful with the batteries in these laptops. I work in IT and this is one of the laptops we deploy. A large percentage of the batteries in these expand at some point, causing the laptop to bulge...
