I had the same issue. I fixed it by deleting all of the intro movies including the ones in the DLC sub folders. I also had to delete my graphics and game setting in My Games.

Probably. The game does feature a touch mode. I've never used it, but there must be some YouTube videos reviewing the feature.

Are imagining things? Micromanaging in Civ is gone from Civ V and up. It wouldn’t be playable on consoles or mobile otherwise

No, civ games are turn based vs aoe2 which is real time.So in Civ games you and your opponent take turns moving your units like a board game.

Yes. You can also just buy 1 copy and play “hot seat” option similar to passing a device around in the same room. Just swap out when it is the other player’s turn.

Never got around to playing Civ5 with all the expansions/DLC but definitely preferred the "Complete" Civ4 to the initial release Civ5. Civ2 still has a special place in my heart though. :)
