I honestly prefer the Premium Clamps versus the automaxx, the automaxx I have does not clamp the jig tightly enough to the wood and causes it to move when the drill bit makes contact with the wood....

Get some of the bar clamps from Harbor Freight, they are cheap and extremely good. When pros with super expensive equipment use them you know they are really good.

The similar HF clamp is a great value and I use them all the time, however the clamp pads aren't as large so may not hold things quite as flush as the Kreg clamp. The HF clamp also does not work...

I actually prefer the premium clamp. The automaxx wants to adjust on its own between same thicknesses. The kreg right angle pocket clamps are by far the most used in my shop.

So having built a few cabinets with a Kreg R3 jig...with a 3" and a 6" clamp, and with the Kreg Right Angle clamps...I would say you could probably get by with just the one 6" or 3" clamp. I drilled...
