Weighs almost a pound. 6"x3" brick. I will have to pass on it.

One failure doesn't indicate a total loss of quality. You might have just gotten a bad one. Even Toyota has a lemon every now and then. Your hub should still be under warranty; submit an RMA and get...

If my current laptop adapter max output is 65 watts, could my laptop accept 87? The outputs listed 15 VDC/3A, 20 VDC/4.35A which makes it seem as it will do 45w or 87.

Yes you’re missing the “87w Power Delivery” part of it. The 24w and 30w PD chargers posted recently from Anker and RAVpower will not properly charge USB C charged laptops/computers. You generally...

How may mah does it have?

No mah since this isn’t a battery based charger. It’s basically a wall charger

I believe, this is the same exact charger as nek-teck USB-IF Certified 111W 5 Port USB Wall Charger but in different casing. This is currently on sale on amazon for $50. Purpose of my comment is so...

Even then, if you plugged it in and only used a 65W laptop and a phone, you'd be drawing less than 100W so you'd be safe. It only uses 100W if you use the full USB-C PD and two ports.

Qc is Qualcomm tech from before pd standard was released by the usb-if. USB-PD is power delivery. USB-IF means implementers foundation, the group that approves pd products and does tests on them.

As stated before it supplies up to 87W on the USB-C port. That's why it's more expensive. If you can make do with 30W, then the other ones are for you.

But PD isn't that important for phones. The high wattage PD is for larger devices like tablets, laptops, and some drones. Things with big batteries that need to be charged in similar amount of time

Great observation but I would say that you can take it onboard.. you can plug it in too.. but Do not use it to power your laptop at full watts and USB ports at the same time.. But to simplify the...

There's a ravpower 61w usbpd that was on sale for $24 a few days ago. It's GaN and just as small as some 18w chargers I've seen that's a great compact option.

I think they list only the maximum amperage depending on voltage, meaning this can do 65w PD because the 65w spec is 20VDC/3.25A which is less than the supported 20VDC/4.35A. Similar to a power brick...

No, no third-party chargers can 45 or even 25 watt charge a Samsung smartphone right now. It requires PPS, which is apparently an optional bit of circuitry that allows for higher amperages at lower...

It can do 87 watts from a single USB C port. This is enough to charge MBPs, while also having 4 more USB A ports and 24 more watts to charge other devices at decent speeds. The Type C port supply is...

Anyone know if this will 45w charge a Note 10? I ask because Ankers USB C hubs with 60 or 100w passthrough specifically state they will not PD charge phones for some reason. Curious if this one can...

I am skeptical of utility. The USB charging ports are NOT Quick Charge compatible it seems. Why go through all this trouble, put out a big heavy brick on your desk/stand etc and ultimately slow...

I'm pretty tempted to get this, but I wonder how the power splits for the rest of the USB A ports. It says 24W (which is divided between 4 ports). If I have all 4 USBs plugged in, does that mean I...

Having taken a few of these apart - these are essentially flyback buck convertors where the output ports are connected in parallel with a thermal/fuse and current limit on each port. IFRC, USB2.0...

Yes, it will only draw what it needs. Think about the electrical outlets in your house. They're capable of putting out 1800 watts before blowing a circuit breaker, yet you can plug in your 65 watt...

The power delivery negotiation is accomplished by the USB C device you plug in. The max it will supply is 87w, it will do 65w just fine.
Post #135604532 added 03-18-2020 7:19 AM by TheBliz in Deal Talk
Is that how it works? I thought the PD negotiation just settles on the highest power profile both devices support. The specs show these profiles for the C port: 5 VDC/3A, 9 VDC/3A, 15 VDC/3A, 20...
