It's probably just old stock of Mint Sim cards. Mint 5GB plan was upgraded to 8GB plan sometime ago. So yes, it is 8GB.

He meant buying the starter plan. That doesn't work for renewal so you have to change numbers each time. But that's fine for some people because of Google Voice.

Look at the Mint/T-Mo map as it shows excellent coverage on the 80. I'm thinking your phone is not band 66/71 capable? I have a Moto Z3 Play and pull strong LTE all the way to Reno.

yes inside mint @ east bay sucks, still been with them for years. wifi calling has gotten more consistent so I don't notice as much plus rarely make call. .
