These are junk thermometers, you would be better off doing the touch test. If you add up all the money from the steaks you will ruin using these you could buy a Thermapen.

These are a waste of money. Please get a real digital instant read thermometer for $10 more, it will be infinitely more accurate and useful.

Uhhh, yeah when you're comparing the OP's item to something that costs 10 times more, of course it will be better. Like, just yesterday, I almost bought a new Honda Civic, but then I looked at the...

This, get a thermapen or at least their $30+ pop thermometer. You’ll be surprised how often you use it. Chicken, shrimp, fish, steak, burgers all cooked perfect.

Seems to give mixed info on the page, as it also says "Hand washing is recommended, do not submerge the face of the thermometer in water."

Might be cool but hard to justify getting this when I already own a Thermapen. That works so well and helps be achieve the correct temperature on the steaks.

Per the product page: "When finished grilling, simply drop the gauges in your dishwasher for safe and convenient cleaning and sterilizing." Sounds pretty waterproof to me.

I had a similar looking set from World Market (their house brand I think). Unless I wasn’t supposed to wash them, they got water in the gauges when I washed them. Anyone know if that’s normal?...

Picked up a set. These will come in handy as my wife prefers her steak cooked a bit more than I do. Always have to guess and I’m usually wrong. Thanks for posting!
