My teenager eats a lot of these. After having to clean out the microwave a few times for over boils, she started to put the bowl on a plate first. It's works much better that way. :)

just use a slightly bigger bowl..I've never had a boil over and they cook perfectly in my 1100 watt microwave on full power at 3.5 minutes.

I can't say because I don't ever eat the regular Kraft. I am pretty sure it tastes the same though; it is all about getting it the right consistency, the same as any pasta.
