Yes IFTT is the way to go to have automatic garage door opening and closing with geofence. But be aware...I learned from my own experience that if you are loading and unloading groceries or something...

I never tried it with google home specifically but there are so many smart home apps that link together that it may take 2 apps to accomplish I task.

This is the way. Both my doors are on it, I did it with an iPhone. No subscription. Took a bit to configure but you only have to set it up once.

Doesn't this work out of the box already? I have a myQ wifi garage door opener that I haven't messed with too much, but I connected it to Amazon Key to get the $30 credit and have had no problems.
