"Luxury timepiece" is an oxymoron... Not needing to know the time is true luxury.

In for the gray dial/brown strap. In based on the great comments here on SD. My only automatic is a Scurfa Bell Diver. That watch sweeps nicely at 28,000 vpm. This will be nice for work. Can't stack...

Well said! Meanwhile, I always face "just another watch scenario" . Now I understand better women tend to have way more hand bags than they need.

Looking at a watch to tell the time is easier than pulling your phone out of your pocket. More importantly, the action doesn't carry the same weight that you are distracted. If I'm out to dinner with...

You are most welcome. Yes, it is often difficult to find such info. I've purchased a couple of "tanks" as a result. Oh, well. My son's watch collection grew a bit.

I suspect you are correct with respect to syntax and Seiko. I would not consider the Powermatic 80 to be an ETA 2824. I don't mean to suggest that the Powermatic is a "bad" movement. (Nor do I...

My kitchen scale indicates 2.8 ounces for the watch and the leather band (with single "butterfly" clasp).

I have two Seiko 5s (with "canvas" straps) which I bought for about $50 each. (Google Seiko SNK.) One has dark blue face. One has black face. Both have a brushed finish (which looks kind of like...

The Seiko 5 line is massive, with many styles and price points in between. I personally have a soft spot for Seiko since they were one of my first automatics, and I still enjoy a handful of them in...

I did not claim Seiko uses ETA. Seiko produces their own movements. Probably confusing due to grammatical syntax, the remark about the modified 2824 is only regarding Tissot, which is also true....

I believe there is some incorrect information here. The ETA 2824 movement is a 28,800 beat per hour movement. I know of know Seiko with an ETA movement (aside from individuals trying to fit such...

This is a fantastic watch at a great price. I have both this Certina (silver) and the Calvin Klein Infinite Too ETA 2824-2. My two cents: -they each have the same movement of 4hz ETA 2824-2;...
