6 months should be adequate unless you live beyond your means. Unemployment should bridge the gap even up to a year if living within your means.

No argument for excess funds but I am a believer, especially in these times, that you should have risk-free funds available of at least 12 months (used to think 6 months was sufficient) of living...

Apparently, based on the fine print, bonus may take up to 60 days after 90 day requirement is met. No sign of bonus here either.

I'm still showing 0.5% with Discover Online Savings at 0.6%. Expecting both to basically go down to 0.01% at this rate. Pathetic and ridiculous and struggling to determine where to park my cash.

I’m down to 0.4% and I’m still waiting on my $450 bonus from a deposit I made through this offer on June 16th. When I called, the rep said they have until the end of November to give me the bonus.
