I purchased the 8" chef's knife for $5 dollars at an Asian grocer. Amazon lists it at $9.99 with free shipping. I'd say it's still a good deal, but not as good of a deal. I wouldn't travel far to buy...

Definitely no, I'm not a fan of Cutco but do own a set, I believe the steel they use is 440A on the Cutco, even tho the heat threat wasn't that great but I'm pretty sure it's better than Farberware.
