This is incorrect. Just initialize the disk to GPT and size limits are a problem of the past.​

Then you're only using 2 TB of each of them. That's the limit unless you jump up to 16 TB.

There should be several options, even for free. Google 'SMART drive monitoring tools' or similiar. I believe Crystal Disk Info does this as well.

buy the amount they need +extra drives, test them for a few weeks, bad ones are exchanged, use extras one to test, if okay then deploy setup. receive replacements and test as extras to replace...
