For the salt, use Morton's lite and it has potassium in it 1/4 teaspoon of regular salt has 590 mg of sodium, no potassium. 1/4 teaspoon of Lite Salt has 290 mg of sodium, 350 mg potassium.

I am an endurance athlete, I use them a lot... and they do hydrate you more than water by allowing you to “hold” more water... salt and carbs are a must for working in a hot strenuous environment.
