It's a one time push from Chase, Wells Fargo, etc. of 1k to The Checking Account. This qualifies as a "direct deposit" This unlocks the Savings account with the 15k - 3%, as described above.

I've been able to open an account and also transfer $15k to the 'spending' account, DD $1k to open the savings account, then transfer $15k to the savings account. Per the Savings Account...

T-Mobile Money pays 4% interest up to 3K and 1% on other balances, you do have to deposit $200 a month to retain the 4% but at least it earns 1% which is better than what I'm getting on the money in...

Yeah TMO money is pretty much useless now. They still have 1% APY without doing anything so that's still much better than normal or online savings banks.

I get that from barclays savings all year round. barclays I can access without the hassle of it being user dumified thru a lame app that forgets me as I have no reason to check on my static money.

A few months from now, i bet the interest rate will drop to 0.5%. Is it worth the hassle? HSBC high yield savings used to have one the best yields. Now it is just average at 0.5%.
