Good for marketing. Air gap the drive from the enclosure, make the enclosure thick with fins, then people leave reviews of how the enclosure runs cooler than other drives.

But the issue being if heat is not properly conducted from SSD to the enclosure, the big heatsink won't do much better than any non-heatsink enclosure.
